About Brown Diamonds

Brown Diamonds

The neutral and golden tones of brown diamonds make them a contemporary and fashionable choice. From subtle champagnes to deep cognacs, these diamonds continue to be on the rise.

Brown Origin

The Argyle diamond mine in Western Australia was a large producer of brown diamonds, as well as being found in Southern Africa and Siberia.

Colour Formation

The brown colour is formed when heat and pressure under the earth’s surface causes the crystal lattice to distort. This distortion causes the diamonds to absorb a continuum of wavelengths towards the blue spectrum and therefore producing a brown colour.
