Did you realise that if you are travelling overseas you are able to export your diamond GST free through the Auckland Airport and some other New Zealand airports, at a cost of NZ$250.00. The diamond has to be mounted and invoiced to the owner of the jewellery who is travelling.

How does it work?

• The diamond must be mounted (set in a piece of jewellery).
• The export must be completed within 30 days of the invoice date.
• Your Jeweller in conjunction with diamonds.co.nz will arrange the necessary paper work for the Airport Authority.
• A day before you travel the package will be delivered to the airport.
• Once you are through Security and Immigration and are on airside you can pick up your parcel at The Collection Point (at Auckland Airport).

This facility is cost effective on items above $10,000 and is very advantageous on high ticket items.

Important - Please note: If you are considering purchasing a diamond from an offshore diamond or jewellery company you will be charged GST on importation and will not be able to claim the GST back.

This Airport export facility is only available for diamonds and jewellery purchased in New Zealand. Diamonds of high value are sold at very competitive margins so this is a very big incentive to buy locally and save 12.5%.
